Starting your genealogy research journey on your own can be very overwhelming. Where do you even start?! Having worked with many clients over the past years, I have the process down and can accomplish a lot in as little as four weeks to create a detailed, professional and official looking family tree. Let me take the pressure off and hunt down those documents and records for you!
Locating headstones
As simple as a search on Find-A-Grave, FAG, or as difficult as connecting with volunteers to read plot info and walk the site for unmarked graves! I also connect all FAG profiles and even create new profiles for ancestors that do not have one!
Discovering obituaries and newspaper clippings
Obituaries are sometimes the missing key to finding out more or confirming information of one of your ancestors. The eldest obituary I have found was one published in 1864 about an ancestor that passed in 1837 with a whole page of information! Many times randon newspaper clippins about your ancestors can tell us a lot about their daily lives, jobs they held or who they interacted with!
Proving Lineage for DAR, SAR and Society of Presidential Descendants
In order to become inducted to any of the aforementioned groups, you will need to provide documentation and proof of your lineage!
Unearthing year book photos
Year books seem very common place now but prior to the early 1900s, they were rare. Finding a photo of one of your first ancestors to graduate highschool or college is a gem of a find!
Confirming family crests
A symbol of a family from noble lineage, this can be very helpful to those wanting to wear a signet ring or trace their origins back to royalty.
Corroborating or dispelling family myths
All families have stories that have been passed down for generations. Sometimes they can be confirmed or even dispelled based on finding documentation to prove one or the other.
Digging up war records
Knowing that you had an ancestor fight in a historic battle always hits close to home. The freedoms we have today should never be taken for granted. Discovering this can change anyone’s perspective on how great life is today!

My Process
1. Choose if you want to purchase an Ancestry.com account or have me make one for you.
Having your own account will allow you to be in control of your tree and be able to download the app on your mobile phone to show your family more easily!
2. We will prioritize your goals and expectations
More interested in your father’s side of the tree? Or your mother’s? Only interested in your direct line? Whatever is most important to you, is what I will focus on.
3. Let the research begin!
Based on your goals and expectations, I will begin researching and will give you weekly updates on the progress I have made along with your invoices for the work done. This is where things get exciting!
